Playstation 4 - You Have Not Seen Anything Yet

Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain creator David Cage has gone on record to say that the Dark Sorceror tech demo shown at the E3 is the absolute minimum quality you can get on the console.
As with any console launch we are being inundated with technical jargon and information that the Playstation 4’s real potential is still yet to be unlocked, and judging from the looks of the recent PS3 exclusives it’s easy story to believe.
The Dark Sorceror Certainly Looks The Part, But We'd Love To See Some GameplayThe Dark Sorceror Certainly Looks The Part, But We'd Love To See Some Gameplay
Chatting about the beautiful tech demo shown for The Dark Sorceror shown back in June, Cage said “This is basically Beyond’s engine, and we were so excited with what we could achieve. Some people were really impressed with the Dark Sorcerer but this is just the beginning, it’s the minimum quality you can get on the console.”
Presumably it’s not actually the minimum quality you can get of the console, or many indie studios would be out of there like a shot.
He went on to say, “It was done with a very small team, a very small amount of time and small resources. Now we have a full team and we hope to make something really impressive.”
Quantic Dream’s PS4 title has been rumoured to be in the works for well over a year now, although details are thin on the ground, except the game may end up titled Singularity.
Beyond: Two Soul’s has met with polarising reviews, running the full gamut from 4s to 9s, with even Sony head honcho Shuhei Yoshida tweeting rather ambiguously “...so I visited David at QD's office in Paris, shared my honest feedback with Beyond, reassured how much I'm excited with his next project.” Hardly showering the Playstation 3 with praise is it?
Still, we expect the team at Quantic Dream to get back on track with its PS4 release, which if The Dark Sorceror is anything to go by, should look absolutely beautiful.
How much more power do you reckon PS4 has under the hood?
Do you think the new consoles will have the legs to last another seven-year generation?
As always, let us know below!
